2024 was the least I have fished In my life due to tearing the tendon in my right forearm which is also my casting arm. After extensive physio and a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection back in May 24 I feel as though I am almost back to 100% – which is timely as I am heading to Cocos Keeling Islands next after having to postpone it last January due to my elbow 😉
I am LOVING the New Minn Kota Riptide Terrova Quest – It can run dual 24/36 volts and is a brushless trolling motor. It is noticeably quieter than my previous Riptide and certainly has a lot more thrust – I am running it on 24 Volts which provides up to 90Lbs of thrust with extended battery life as well!
The new Scientific Anglers “Launch Pad” is also great for managing your line on the deck – I reckon I will add a second one next 😉
You will also see I am using a Yeti Cooler as a casting platform as the extra elevation makes a BIG difference when searching the flats 😉
It was great to see a reasonable number of golden trevally up in the skinny stuff – we even had some tailing which is always exciting! I had forgotten how erratic they can be when feeding and tailing, but I did manage to get this one to eat off the back of a ray 😉
We are now using DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro cameras with remote Mic2’s and an Air3 S Drone and am STOKED with the quality – you can watch the full video here 😉
