We only fish over the bottom bar off Rainbow Beach/Double Island point when we have a few days run with 5 knots or variable winds and less than a metre of swell

There are always a few Pearl Perch about off Rainbow

Katrina with a beautifully coloured juvenile Red Emporer

Another 1st for us – Barred Soapfish or Yellow Emperor

Water temperatures in the Bay have been warmer than usual again this winter with patchy snapper fishing – with our better sessions all coming off Rainbow Beach the last two seasons. We dropped some quality fish this day through pulled hooks & bite offs but Katrina managed to put a few in the boat for a feed !
