Lake Monduran round 2

Author picture

After such a great afternoon on Lake Monduran the previous week I headed back up again for our 2nd afternoon session with Katrina. I also had a couple on new barra combos to christen – this one is a G.Loomis IMX 742 with Shimano Conquest 200 – spooled with 30lb Kairiki 8 braid. The stand out lure was again a Jackall Hank Tune Squirrel 79 in Uroko Vision Wakasagi 😉

We tried a different area and am surprised at how big Mondy actually is and with so many bays and arms all filled with timber it can be daunting knowing where to get started !

The bite was not as hot as it had been the previous week – but I still managed 4 nice fish all around 75cm. Katina misse dout but now has the “barra bug” again – so well be back more often over the next few months. I have been surprised at how hard these fish go – they are a handful in tight country !

Stay tuned for our next trip report – Scotto
